How this site works
What this site is, and how it gets paid
This page exists because the answer changes how you should read the rest of the site. Putting it three clicks deep would be a decision about you rather than about layout.
The arrangement
We are not the people on the roof
Plano Chimney Pros is a website about chimney work in Plano. It is not a chimney company. Nobody here sweeps a flue, casts a crown or runs a gas line. What the site does is take your details and pass them to a local company that does the work, and that company pays for the introduction. You do not.
Being paid by the company we refer you to is a real commercial interest, and you should know about it, because it is the reason to be skeptical of anything on here that reads like a push toward expensive work. We have tried to write the opposite site: several of these pages spend their length explaining when you do not need the thing being described, because that is the advice that is actually scarce.
The company that calls you sets its own prices and stands behind its own work. We have no say in the quote and no ability to authorize anything on your behalf. If a conversation goes badly, we would rather hear about it than not.
Absent on purpose
Things you will not find here
A great many local service websites are furnished with things that were never true. The following are all missing from this one deliberately, and their absence is the point rather than an oversight:
- No reviews, ratings or testimonials. There is no trading history behind this site to review. Invented ones are the single most common lie in this category of website.
- No certifications, license numbers or awards. We hold none. The company that answers your request may well hold CSIA certification, and that is a question worth asking them directly.
- No stock photographs of technicians presented as a crew, no founder's story, no year we were established.
- No street address or map pin. There is no premises. A pin dropped on a residential street to look local is a lie that is trivially easy to tell and reasonably easy to catch.
- No countdown timers, no “three slots left this week”, no manufactured urgency. Chimney problems are almost never emergencies, and anyone telling you otherwise wants a decision made quickly for reasons of their own.
The diagrams on this site were drawn for it rather than bought, and the claims about Plano (the code the city adopted, the amendment it wrote, what its contractor handouts say, how old the housing stock is) come from the city's own documents and from Census data. Where a number could not be traced to a source it was cut rather than rounded to something confident-sounding.
The one number that is missing
Why there is no phone number yet
Every button on this site that would normally be a phone number goes to the form instead. That is not an oversight or a growth tactic. Publishing a phone number means publishing a number that rings somewhere, and until the arrangement with a local company is finalized there is no honest number to publish. Putting a plausible one on the page would mean a stranger's phone ringing about a chimney.
When there is a number, it will be one we control and it will be answered. Until then the form is the whole of it, and it reaches a real inbox.
If you got this far
Ask anyway
Reading the about page before the service pages usually means you are trying to work out whether to trust the site. That is the right instinct, and the answer is: trust the report, not the website. Any company can write a good paragraph.
What we can do is get someone out to look and produce something in writing you can hold up against a second opinion. If it turns out you need nothing, that is a perfectly good result and it is the one we would rather send you.
